About Me

maryharrington

My background is in photography and mixed media.

I discovered my love of photography while working on my B.S. in Media Communications at Framingham State University. I then completed courses in art and design at the Worcester Art Museum. I was a news photographer and recipient of a Massachusetts Press Association Best Spot News Photo award and a Harte Hanks Honorable Mention for best feature photo in the Children’s category.

I am a former member of the Westborough Gallery in Westborough, Mass. and my work was featured in an art show, “Mary’s Contrary Garden” at the Westborough Art Gallery several years ago. Several of my mixed media pieces are on display at The Grille at the Westborough Country Club, and the Art Emporium in Westborough, Mass. My jewelry has been sold at Craftworks in Northborough, Mass., Tower Hill Botanical Garden gift shop in Boylston, Mass. and She’s a Gem in Westborough, Mass.  I currently have an”Assemblage”  exhibit through October at the Westborough Library,

I recently retired as Communications Director for an association representing municipal electric plants in New England, which gives me more time to devote to art. I also spend time helping my daughter and son-in-law chase my two amazing grandsons, or I’m visiting my son and daughter-in-law and other amazing grandson in Washington, DC
